Meet the Teachers
Our teachers bring warmth, experience and genuine care to every class at Harbour Yoga Studio. Whoever guides your practice, you are in good hands.
Maya Collins
Founder and Lead Teacher
Maya Collins founded Harbour Yoga Studio with a clear ambition: to create a genuinely welcoming space where people of all levels could discover or deepen a yoga practice that works for them.
Maya teaches Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Beginners and Pregnancy Yoga, bringing a thoughtful, unhurried approach to each format. Her Vinyasa Flow classes build strength and fluidity through breath-led movement, while her Yin sessions invite students to slow down, hold longer and find stillness. In Beginners classes, Maya places particular emphasis on alignment cues and building confidence from the ground up, ensuring newcomers never feel out of their depth.
Pregnancy Yoga is an area Maya approaches with particular care, adapting postures and breathwork to suit each stage of pregnancy and supporting students through what can be a physically and emotionally demanding time.
Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the very first time or returning after a long break, Maya's classes are designed to meet you exactly where you are.

What Our Teachers Bring to Each Class
Every class format at Harbour Yoga Studio is taught with a specific focus and student need in mind.
Vinyasa Flow
Dynamic, breath-synchronised sequences that build strength, coordination and a meditative focus. Suitable for those who want to move with purpose and flow through transitions.
Yin Yoga
Slow, grounded practice with longer-held postures targeting the deeper connective tissues. Ideal for releasing tension, improving flexibility and cultivating stillness.
Beginners Yoga
A patient, structured introduction to foundational postures, breathwork and yoga philosophy. No prior experience required — beginners are always welcome here.
Pregnancy Yoga
Carefully adapted classes supporting the body and mind throughout pregnancy. Postures, breathing techniques and relaxation practices are chosen with safety and comfort in mind.
Our Teaching Philosophy
Yoga is for every body. That belief shapes everything we do at Harbour Yoga Studio.
At Harbour Yoga Studio, we do not believe yoga is reserved for the flexible, the experienced or the athletic. Our teachers are trained to adapt classes to the people in the room, offering modifications and alternatives so that every student can participate fully and safely.
We keep class sizes small so that teachers can give meaningful attention to each student. Whether you need a gentler variation of a posture or want to be challenged further, our teachers will notice and respond.
We also understand that walking into a yoga studio for the first time can feel daunting. Our teachers take that seriously, which is why we offer a dedicated Beginners class and a free trial session — so you can get a feel for the studio and the teaching before you commit.
